(7/26/10) -- Native American Music Award-winning, traditional drum group, Wind Spirit Drum will perform two concerts on Friday, Sept. 17, the first day of the Native American Gathering and Mountain Man Rendezvous at Allen Ranch near Hot Springs. ![]() The Native American Gathering and Mountain Man Rendezvous will kick off a weekend of events and activities for the Hot Springs Fall Heritage Festival, which will be Sept. 17-19, 2010. The Native American Gathering and Mountain Man Rendezvous also will feature Native artisans, storytelling and live music. Wind Spirit Drum, featuring Windwalker, Edoal Spirit Buffalo and Anagqus, will perform two free shows at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. The concert is produced by PK Productions LLC / musicseenPROductions. Wind Spirit Drum of Datil, N.M., features Windwalker and Spirit Buffalo, a husband and wife who share their Eastern Woodland Native American culture and music through their flute and drum performance art. They perform traditional songs and stories in their language and English. The schedule also includes: Mountain Man demonstrations by Red Wall Muzzle Loaders, Paula Tonemah, traditional storyteller, performer, author of “Spirit Horse, An Adventure in Crazy Horse Country” and “Recipes From The Powwow Trail", and Virgil Red Cloud Goode, traditional performer and quillwork artist. A stew and fry-bread feed will be served and donations are kindly accepted. The Native American Gathering is a free, non-alcoholic event.
